Copyright policy
TheOarShop respects intellectual-property rights and does not permit users to upload or distribute material they do not have the right to distribute. We may promptly disable or remove a listing when we receive a valid notice, when infringement is apparent, or when other reliable information shows that the uploader lacks distribution rights.
Submitting a DMCA notice
A copyright owner or authorized agent requesting removal should provide a written notice containing all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are involved.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it, preferably the exact TheOarShop listing URL.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the allegedly infringed exclusive right.

What happens after a notice
We may remove or disable access to the material while the complaint is reviewed. We may notify the uploader, preserve relevant records, and restrict the listing or account. A listing removed for copyright reasons may remain unavailable while the dispute is pending.
Counter-notice
If you believe your material was removed because of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notice containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the removed material and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, together with the jurisdiction and service-of-process consent required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3).
When legally required, a compliant counter-notice may be forwarded to the original complainant. Material may be restored after the statutory waiting period unless the complainant provides notice of a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.
Repeat infringers
TheOarShop maintains a policy of terminating or restricting repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. We may also immediately suspend an account for serious, deliberate, fraudulent, or repeated rights violations.
False or abusive notices
Do not knowingly make material misrepresentations in a takedown notice or counter-notice. Misrepresentations may carry legal consequences. TheOarShop may reject abusive submissions and may take action against users who misuse the copyright process.
Other intellectual-property complaints
Trademark, licensing, privacy, or other rights complaints that are not DMCA notices may be sent to joshboam@yahoo.com. Please identify the material, the right at issue, the listing URL, and your contact information.
